BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery)

The main focus of BAMS course is on nature based treatments and use of herbal medicines which enhance the immunity of humans as the opposite of allopathic treatments which have severe side effects. Ayurveda is one of the oldest systems of medicine and has its roots in Vedic times. Students aspiring for a career in Bachelor of Ayurveda must have great power of concentration, the courses have a lot of reading of both modern science and ancient Ayurveda texts.

Ayurveda is gaining popularity not only in India but in Western countries as well because of natural healing properties with very minimum side effects, as these medicines are prepared from natural herbs and plants. BAMS degree is designed to teach students basics of Ayurveda and how its application can be done for treatment of ailments and diseases. The course is an integration of modern medicine and Ayurveda. The BAMS admission will be conducted based on the NEET UG exam. The selling process for this BAMS course will start nearly from September 2021 different states provide BAMS admission for the affiliated colleges of the states and Universities. They only give admissions based on NEET UG scores. Also, some colleges give admission directly without the NEET UG score.

BAMS Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must be an Indian national. However, Non Resident Indian (NRI) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) / Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) are also eligible for BAMS admission subject to rules and regulations framed by Government of India.
The candidate should be at least 17 years old at the time of the admission.
The candidate should have passed the 10+2 from the Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other equivalent exam.
The applicant must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in 10+2.
The BAMS applicant must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate English, Biology, Physics and Chemistry in 10+2. In case of OBC/MBC/SC/ST category, it is 40%.
The candidate must have qualified NEET UG 2021.

BAMS Course Duration

Bachelor of Ayurveda in Medicine and Surgery (B A M S) course of 5 years and 6 months duration which includes a year of compulsory internship.
