BSc Respiratory Therapy

B.Sc. Respiratory Therapy is a 4-year degree course offered across the nation. In India, the course has been designed to train and produce qualified professionals who are able to assist specialists in treating various respiratory-based and cardiopulmonary diseases and disorders. Respiratory Therapy is a relatively new branch of Allied Health Sciences and a profession devoted to the scientific application of technology in order to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, management and care of patients with cardiopulmonary and associated diseases. Due to increasing pollution level a lot of people suffer from various respiratory disorders. Asthma and Bronchitis are the commonly known respiratory diseases.

Eligibility:-
General Candidates:- Must Have Passed 10+2/PUC From A Recognized University/Board Or Equivalent With 45% Marks.
SC/ST Candidates:- Must Have Passed 10+2/PUC From A Recognized University/Board Or Equivalent With 40% Marks.
Course Duration:- 3 Years + A Half-Year Internship.

Respiratory therapists are mostly appointed in Intensive care units, emergency departments, Operating rooms, Neonatal nurseries and critical care teams in hospitals. Nursing homes, clinics and health care centers, pulmonary rehab centers, pulmonary function testing labs also offer openings for respiratory therapists. They may also be employed in non-hospital environments like wellness centers, diagnostic laboratories, educational institutions etc.
